The number of golf rounds played in Washington state jumped 13 percent in February compared with a year earlier, despite courses not being open for as many days a year ago.
According to statistics compiled by the Professional Golfers Association of America, Washington state courses were open only 17.8 days in February, compared with being open 18 days a year earlier.
The state's results far bettered national golf statistics, which saw a nearly 10 percent drop in the number of rounds played in the U.S. in February, compared with 2012.
