(AP) ? Space station astronauts floated into the Dragon on Saturday, a day after its heralded arrival as the world's first commercial supply ship.

NASA astronaut Donald Pettit, the first one inside the docked capsule, said the Dragon looks like it carries about as much cargo as his pickup truck back home in Houston. It has the smell of a brand new car, he added.

"I spent quite a bit of time poking around in here this morning, just looking at the engineering and the layout, and I'm very pleased," Pettit said from the brilliant white compartment.

To protect against possible debris, Pettit wore goggles, a mask and a caver's light as he slid open the hatch of the newest addition to the International Space Station. The complex sailed 250 miles above the Tasman Sea, just west of New Zealand, as he and his crewmates made their grand entrance. The atmosphere was clean; no dirt or other particles were floating around.

"This event isn't just a simple door opening between two spacecraft ? it opens the door to a future in which U.S. industry can and will deliver huge benefits for U.S. space exploration," the Space Frontier Foundation, an advocacy group, said in a statement.

The California-based SpaceX ? formally Space Exploration Technologies Corp. ? is the first private company to send a vessel to the space station. It's run by Elon Musk, a billionaire who helped create PayPal and founded the electric car company Tesla Motors.

Now that the space shuttles are retired, NASA is handing over orbital delivery work to American business in order to focus on bigger and better objectives, such as getting astronauts to asteroids and Mars. The space agency hopes astronaut ferry trips will follow soon; SpaceX contends its Dragons could be carrying space station astronauts up and down within three or four years.

Flight controllers were ecstatic to be at the cusp of this new commercial era.

"It's great to see you guys inside Dragon. It looks great," Mission Control radioed.

The six space station residents have until the middle of next week to unload Dragon's groceries and refill the capsule with science experiments and equipment for return to Earth. Unlike all the other cargo ships that fly to the orbiting lab, the Dragon is designed for safe re-entry. It will be freed on Thursday and aim for a Pacific splashdown.

The Dragon contains 1,000 pounds of food, clothes, batteries and other provisions. It will bring back 1,400 pounds' worth of gear.

Until now, only major governments have launched cargo ships to the space station. Russia, Japan and Europe will keep providing supplies, and Russia will continue to sell rocket rides to U.S. astronauts until SpaceX or other companies are ready to take over. Several American enterprises are competing for the honor.

Pettit noted that the Dragon ? 19 feet tall and 12 feet wide ? is roomier than the Russian Soyuz spacecraft he rode up in.

"Flying up in a human-rated Dragon is not going to be an issue," he assured reporters during a news conference.

The unmanned bell-shaped capsule was launched Tuesday from Cape Canaveral aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Pettit used the space station's robot arm Friday to snare the craft.

During Saturday's news conference, Pettit played down his role in the historic event. He noted that the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad, which opened up America's Western frontier, was commemorated by the pounding of a golden spike.

"This is kind of the equivalent of the golden spike," he said. "And one other interesting detail ? nobody remembers who pounded that golden spike in. The important thing is to remember that the railroad was completed and was now open for use."

Success or failure of the new commercial space effort ? the cornerstone of President Barack Obama's vision for NASA ? does not hinge on a single mission but rather many missions over many years, Pettit stressed.

"Commercial spaceflight will blossom due to its own merits," he said.

In our private lives, the area of rules we will experience the almost all, either directly or perhaps indirectly would have to function as the criminal law. Not always through contravening its principals, the individual citizen will certainly more commonly encounter it?s breadth in the course of the everyday lives, thinking about as a factor your legal ramifications of a typical desired conduct as well as decision in the selection process. For most of us, we tend to live our way of life within these set boundaries with no subsequent thought or concern as to the morality of the prohibited option nor the moral power behind it. In this post, it is proposed to check out the nature and setting of the criminal law in our society, and to examine whether as an business it is too invasive, or whether it is obviously a required part of regulating society.

It is usually said academically how the citizen enjoys independence to act as he wishes in his life, susceptible to the regulatory convention of the criminal law and the criminal justice system. It is thought in which as citizens of your particular country, mainly at freedom to select where we are living in the world, we impliedly accept the authority of the relevant legal terms which, for the most part, control on a moral degree. Of course there are ommissions, i.e. felony laws of a regulatory or secondary mother nature which do not directly have any moral information, such as speeding restrictions or parking limitations. So, then, to what extent does the particular criminal law reflect morality, and further by what source is that this morality derived?

The criminal law is considered to operate in mind from the public good, and also the benefit of society. It could actually, therefore, be contended to be crossing the particular boundaries into significant restrictions on independence when it regulates personalized conduct like drug use which may not have any larger impact than on that of the person indulging as a result. Why should the criminal rules impose restrictions on what a person can do with his very own body? Surely our own freewill is a superb enough justification for acting outwith the extent of the law within these types of scenario?

Moreover an interesting area of the felony law is likely liability for omissions. In that sense, the person can actually be reprimanded without acting in any way in a specific means. This takes the legal law beyond a regulatory framework for that public good in to an actual coercive force to create people positively behave in a certain means. For example, in some states there is a legal duty to report a new road traffic accident. This suggests a citizen who?s going to be aware of the occurrence of such will have committed the criminal offence where he does not act in the prescribed manner. Again, that is surely affording a wide scope to the Criminal Law Atascadero, which may be witnessed by some since intruding on the fundamental freedoms and values upon which most modern nations have been built.

It is interesting to consider the real effect of the criminal regulation, and the sheer width of conduct it regulates. From the fairly morally wrong to your less obvious scenarios of imposition of legal responsibility, the criminal regulation places severe limits on the general primary of absolute independence, which is clearly the topic of much academic along with philosophical debate.

Who deserves some early awards?

Atlanta's Beachy a Cy Young contender, while Wright's bat carrying Mets

Mets slugger David Wright is flirting with .400 during the first third of the season.

ANALYSIS

Tony DeMarco

Memorial Day weekend means the season's rapidly rolling along ? the one-third mark rapidly is approaching. In other words, general managers have had enough time to know what they have on their rosters, and more importantly, what they still need in what surely will be wide-open playoff chases.

And, we've had enough time to make the following observations that have gone beyond the it's-still-early category:

AWARD LEADERS

AL MVP: When you're a couple of batting average points from having a Triple Crown winner, this one is obvious. Josh Hamilton is the best player on what clearly has been baseball's best team. Not to ignore the great starts for Paul Konerko and Adam Jones, though. Konerko actually led Hamilton in batting average and on-base percentage through Wednesday.

NL MVP: It was unanimously Matt Kemp in April. Then he slumped, went on the disabled list and the Dodgers won six in a row without him. So at this point, we'll go with David Wright, who through Thursday had the remarkable slash line of .405/.500/.628 in leading the surprising Mets.

AL Cy Young: Nothing mysterious here ? Justin Verlander is first or second in the AL in innings, strikeouts, ERA, WHIP and wins. Much more surprising are the great first two months of Jake Peavy, Derek Lowe, Brandon Morrow and Chris Sale.

NL Cy Young: The statistical difference between favorite Clayton Kershaw and still-unknown Atlanta pitcher Brandon Beachy boils down to Kershaw's better strikeout-walk ratio (4-1 to 3-1). Which makes Beachy's story all the better: Undrafted free agent out of Indiana Wesleyan University, signed for $20,000, started his minor-league career in the bullpen, and four years later, a Cy Young-caliber starter.

AL Manager of the Year: It can only be Buck Showalter, as the Orioles were a near-unanimous spring choice for another last-place finish in the AL East. Nobody knows how long they can hang around, but there are enough positive signs throughout the organization for legitimate optimism. This also could be the year Manny Acta gets his due, while Joe Maddon remains the most interesting manager in the world.

NL Manager of the Year: Nobody was paying attention when the Dodgers turned the corner last August and went 34-20 down the stretch. But everybody is aware of Don Mattingly's team now, as it sat 30 games over .500 at 64-34 in its last 98 games through Wednesday.

It's who Mattingly is winning with that makes his case. Kemp, Mark Ellis, Juan Rivera, Juan Uribe, Jerry Hairston Jr. currently are on the disabled list, Dee Gordon was benched then dropped to eighth in the order, and James Loney's power struggles continue. Yet the wins keep mounting with lineups including Jerry Sands, Justin Sellers, Elian Herrara, Scott Van Slyke and Ivan DeJesus.

AL Rookie of the Year: He's no rookie, of course -- not when it took over $100 million to get him out of Japan. But Yu Darvish is eligible for the award and gets it at this point. But Mike Trout is making it interesting, isn't he?

NL Rookie of the Year: We know where this likely is leading as the season unfolds -- Bryce Harper. Especially when this isn't a particularly strong year for NL rookies. Wade Miley, Yonder Alonso, Zack Cozart and Kirk Nieuwenhuis are off to nice starts.

Best surprise team: Given what's written above in the NL Manager of Year category, the Dodgers shouldn't be a huge surprise. But they have built a solid lead in both the division and wild-card races, and new ownership will add at the trade deadline.

Also, the Nationals have risen to the top of the NL East behind great starting pitching ? and without Michael Morse (expected back in June), Drew Storen (expected back in July) and Brad Lidge (expected back in June).

Most disappointing team: Tie: Angels and Tigers. Albert Pujols has been far from alone, as Erick Aybar, Ervin Santana, Dan Haren and Peter Bourjos also have underachieved. Injuries/losses of Chris Iannetta, Torii Hunter, Vernon Wells have been costly. The bullpen had to undergo a reconstruction and appears to be settling. The infusion of Mike Trout and Mark Trumbo in the every-day lineup has lit some recent offensive sparks.

As it's turning out in Detroit, Miguel Cabrera playing third base has been less of an issue than Prince Fielder playing first base. The offense's problems lie with the supporting cast ? with the obvious exception of Austin Jackson. The bullpen could be bolstered by the trade deadline, but there is hope for the rotation with Doug Fister's return and the expectation that Max Scherzer and Rick Porcello will lower current 5-plus ERAs.

The two-month All-Stars
AL?
1B: Paul Konerko, 2B: Robinson Cano, SS: Derek Jeter, 3B: Adrian Beltre, OF: Josh Hamilton, Austin Jackson, Adam Jones, C: Joe Mauer, SP: Justin Verlander, Closer: Jim Johnson.

NL ? C: Carlos Ruiz, 1B: Brian LaHair, 2B: Omar Infante, SS: Rafael Furcal, 3B: David Wright, OF: Matt Kemp, Melky Cabrera, Ryan Braun; SP: Clayton Kershaw, Closer: Jonathan Papelbon.

Biggest disappointments: 1B: Albert Pujols; 2B: Rickie Weeks; SS: Erick Aybar; 3B: Pedro Alvarez; OF: Jeff Francouer, Logan Morrison, Peter Bourjos; C: Nick Hundley; SP: Tim Lincecum, Clay Buchholz, Francisco Liriano; RP: Carlos Marmol, Francisco Cordero.

By the numbers: How much better are the Rangers than the rest of the AL?: Through Wednesday, they led the majors with a +79 run differential. The next-highest AL team was Toronto at +35, and no other team was better than +17.

How much worse are the Twins than the rest of the AL? Through Wednesday, they sported a -69 run differential. Next worse in the AL were the Royals at -22.

Which surprise team is least likely to sustain its current winning percentage? Taking nothing away from the job Terry Collins has done in a very tough situation, the Mets had a 24-20 record despite a -29 run differential through Wednesday.

With the exact same run differential, the Brewers were 18-26. And the Rockies were 16-27 with a -27 run differential. How have the Mets gotten there? They're 9-5 in one-run games, but have lost by scores of 8-2, 14-6, 9-3, 6-1, 7-2, 18-9, 8-1, 8-0 and 14-5.

Who deserves some early awards?

DeMarco: David Wright's hot bat ? he's hitting .405 ? makes him the pick for NL MVP thus far. But that's just for starters in our feature.

Pujols homers, Angels rally past Mariners

SEATTLE (AP) - Pinch-hitter Howie Kendrick broke a tie in the top of the ninth inning with a two-run single off Seattle closer Brandon League, and the Los Angeles Angels rallied from a 4-0 deficit for a 6-4 win over the Mariners on Friday night.

7 inspiring dogs from the 'Pets With Disabilities' Project | MNN ...

Award-winning photographer Carli Davidson has always been an animal lover. An experienced animal trainer who volunteers at local shelters, Davidson has spent years working with abandoned cats and dogs, as well as doing regular photo shoots for the Oregon Zoo.

?

?I love photography, but it has never trumped my desire to work with animals. I started taking pictures of the animals I was working with 12 years ago and shortly thereafter refocused my photography career toward them," she says.

?

Davidson began her ?Pets With Disabilities? series two years ago after seeing a wheelchair-bound German shepherd playing fetch with its owner on an Oregon beach.

?

?I thought a lot about this pair in the following weeks and decided I wanted to create a project showcasing these pets and telling their stories in order to show the world that they are happy, thriving companions. They are not sad, they are not in pain, and the owners and animals continue to be a great value to one another,? Davidson says.

NATO sets "irreversible" but risky course to end Afghan war

CHICAGO (Reuters) - NATO set an "irreversible" course out of Afghanistan on Monday but President Barack Obama admitted the Western alliance's plan to end the deeply unpopular war in 2014 was fraught with peril.

A landmark NATO summit in Chicago endorsed an exit strategy that calls for handing control of Afghanistan to its own security forces by the middle of next year but left questions unanswered about how to prevent a slide into chaos and a Taliban resurgence after allied troops are gone.

The two-day meeting of the 28-nation military bloc marked a major milestone in a war sparked by the September 11 attacks that has spanned three U.S. presidential terms and even outlasted al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Obama and NATO partners sought to show their war-weary voters the end is in sight in Afghanistan - a conflict that has strained Western budgets as well as patience - while at the same time trying to reassure Afghans that they will not be abandoned.

"We are now unified behind a plan to responsibly wind down the war in Afghanistan," Obama told the summit's closing news conference.

"Are there risks involved? Absolutely," Obama conceded, saying the Taliban remained a "robust enemy" and NATO's gains on the ground were fragile. But he insisted the overall strategy, which offered few specifics on the pace of withdrawal, was sound.

Even in NATO's outward show of solidarity, it was clear that differences remained after nearly 11 years of military engagement that has failed to defeat Taliban Islamists.

Alliance leaders acquiesced to new French President Francois Hollande's insistence on sticking to his campaign pledge to withdraw France's 3,400 troops by December 31, two years ahead of NATO's timetable. While there was no sign this would send others rushing for the exits, leaders could face pressures at home.

But despite a face-to-face encounter with Pakistan's president, Obama failed to resolve a dispute overhanging the summit - Islamabad's refusal to reopen supply routes to NATO in Afghanistan seen as vital to an orderly withdrawal.

The summit's final communiqu? ratified plans for the NATO-led army to hand over command of all combat missions to Afghan forces by the middle of 2013 and for the withdrawal of most of the 130,000 foreign troops by the end of the following year.

The statement deemed it an "irreversible" transition to full security responsibility for fledgling Afghan troops, and said NATO's mission in 2014 would shift to a training and advisory role. "This will not be a combat mission," it said.

Doubts remain, however, whether Afghan forces can stand up against a still-potent Taliban insurgency and whether President Hamid Karzai's government, widely criticized for rampant corruption, will be up to the task.

Obama, who has narrowed his goals in Afghanistan since taking office, said: "We can achieve a stable Afghanistan that won't be perfect ... and we can begin rebuilding America."

With an eye to the November presidential election, Obama has made ending the Iraq war and winding down the Afghan war a campaign theme his aides hope will help ease voter anguish over a slow U.S. economic recovery and stubbornly high unemployment.

For NATO as a whole, the long, messy Afghan conflict seems to have created its own "Vietnam Syndrome," causing it to shy away from deep on-the-ground engagement in faraway places. NATO already limited itself to an air assault in Libya last year, and has shown no stomach for military intervention in Syria.

"GRAVEYARD OF EMPIRES"

The NATO plan offered no guarantees on the future of Afghanistan, known over the centuries as the "graveyard of empires" for its ill treatment of foreign armies.

While Obama insisted Afghanistan should never again be used to plot attacks on other nations, a senior British official said: "It is unrealistic to assume that Afghanistan is going to be completely secure and there is no possibility of a terrorist threat re-emerging."

Underscoring the prospects that other allies may be tempted to follow France's lead and depart early, New Zealand announced on Monday it would pull out its 140 troops in 2013, a year ahead of schedule, saying their work was done.

Amid a growing sense of finality surrounding the NATO mission, veteran diplomatic trouble-shooter Ryan Crocker will soon step down as Obama's envoy to Afghanistan. He could leave as early as this month, sources familiar with the matter said.

At the summit's end, Obama spoke of "diligent progress" but no breakthrough with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari on the supply lines issue after they talked briefly on the sidelines.

Frustrated NATO officials have also been trying to persuade Pakistan to reopen its territory to NATO supplies, which Islamabad has blocked since NATO forces killed 24 Pakistani soldiers in a cross-border incident last year.

With Europe's debt crisis hanging over the summit and many member-governments limited by austerity budgets, Obama also struggled to pin down final commitments from allies for the $4.1 billion a year needed to support Afghan security forces.

The funding - which will undergird Afghan's capacity to fight the Taliban and is considered vital to a smooth NATO departure - was not thought to have been fully realized at the summit. But alliance officials believe it will eventually be provided.

NATO diplomats said thinking had moved to the logistical challenge of getting a large multinational army out of the Afghan mountains and deserts and back home safely.

As Zardari, an uneasy U.S. partner, sat with other leaders around a circular table, Obama pointedly thanked Afghanistan's neighbors who have allowed expanded shipments of war supplies since Pakistan closed off ground routes to NATO truck convoys.

NATO is seeking to compensate in the meantime with a framework agreement with Afghanistan's northern neighbor, Uzbekistan, to allow "reverse transit" of NATO supplies from Afghanistan.

Friction remains between NATO and Pakistan over Taliban guerrillas who are still finding sanctuary in Pakistan, in spite of Islamabad's professed support for the alliance's mission.

Long-term funding for the Afghan police and army, which has steadily improved its performance but is still plagued by problems, was also a focus of the summit.

The United States is unwilling to foot the entire annual bill to maintain the forces after 2014 and has been seeking pledges from allies of $1.3 billion, despite austerity measures brought on by Europe's financial crisis.

Many of the leaders in Chicago came directly from a Camp David summit of the Group of Eight wealthy nations that vowed to take all necessary measures to contain the euro-zone contagion.

Afghan funding commitments so far include $100 million annually from Britain, $120 million from Italy, $110 million from Canada, $100 million from Australia and $20 million from Turkey. Zardari told a NATO partners meeting Pakistan would also contribute $20 million.

Obama has sought to dispel Americans' concerns that shaky allies will leave U.S. troops to finish the fight alone.

Despite pressure from some NATO members to reconsider, Hollande vowed to hold to his election pledge withdraw French troops by the year's end but said France would keep some trainers in the country for Afghan soldiers and police.

A French defense official said the United States appeared to be asking France for more financing to offset Paris' decision to exit early. "The Americans are asking for between $200-$250 million," the official said. "It's a way of compensating."

Ex-Goldman director faces U.S. jury in insider case

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Barely a day went by at the insider-trading trial of multimillionaire hedge-fund founder Raj Rajaratnam a year ago without mention of Rajat Gupta, a boldface name in business and charity circles.

On Monday in the same federal court in New York, it will be Gupta's turn to go on trial. The former Goldman Sachs Group Inc and Procter & Gamble board member is accused of leaking stock secrets to Rajaratnam, his erstwhile friend and business associate who was convicted and is now in prison.

But while prosecutors have called Gupta the "illegal eyes and ears" for Rajaratnam, this is a very different case. At Rajaratnam's trial, jurors spent weeks listening to the Galleon Group founder discussing stock trades on calls secretly recorded by the FBI. With Gupta, prosecutors have no direct conversations on tape related to the trades central to their case.

One of the government's core allegations is that Gupta tipped Rajaratnam to Berkshire Hathaway Inc's

$5 billion investment in Goldman during the 2008 financial crisis and Goldman's surprise fourth-quarter loss that year.

Gupta, 63, has pleaded not guilty. His lawyers have argued that others may have leaked information about Goldman to Galleon and that Gupta, who once led management consultant McKinsey & Co, had no reason to illegally spill corporate secrets.

"This is a classic reasonable doubt case," said Tom Dewey, a partner at law firm Dewey Pegno & Kramarsky in New York, who is not involved in the case. "The core defense message will be: 'There is just not enough evidence.'"

Gupta also is charged with providing non-public information to Rajaratnam in 2008 and 2009 about P&G.

A jury of 12 and four alternates will be chosen on Monday for the trial before U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff, who expects it to last about three weeks. Opening arguments from Assistant U.S. Attorney Reed Brodsky and defense lawyer, Gary Naftalis, could start later Monday.

Gupta is charged with five counts of securities fraud and one count of conspiracy. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison, though such a long sentence would be unlikely. Rajaratnam was handed an 11-year term in October, the longest for insider trading in the United States, after being overwhelmingly convicted on 14 criminal counts.

DECADES AT MCKINSEY

Gupta, the most prominent person indicted in the government's insider-trading crackdown, has had a remarkable fall from grace. Born in India, he earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and spent 34 years at McKinsey, serving as its global head for nine years. He retired in 2007.

He joined Goldman's board in 2006 and left in May 2010, seven months after Rajaratnam's arrest. Gupta, who was arrested last October, was also formerly a director at P&G and American Airlines Corp.

Naftalis has touted Gupta's charity, particularly his work to combat AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis, to rebut any possible government argument that he was motivated by money.

"He has had a wonderful, blameless life and out of the clear blue sky in the seventh decade of his life he decides to become a criminal?" Naftalis said at a pre-trial hearing.

Naftalis fought unsuccessfully to exclude three wiretaps between Rajaratnam and two traders that could implicate Gupta. But the judge said his ruling was not final.

Naftalis has not said if Gupta will testify in his own defense. Some high-profile witnesses could take the stand including Goldman Chief Executive Lloyd Blankfein, who also testified at the Rajaratnam trial as a government witness and said Gupta breached his fiduciary duty to the investment bank.

The case is USA v. Gupta, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, No. 11-907.

TORONTO (AP) ? The first-ever transgender contestant to compete in the Miss Universe Canada pageant strutted the runway Saturday night, making it to the penultimate round before losing her bid to win the title.

Jenna Talackova, 23, competed with 61 contestants and was among the final 12 contestants before failing to make the final five in the glitzy pageant.

Sahar Biniaz, 26, claimed the crown and advances to the international Miss Universe competition in December.

Talackova, who was one of four contestants named Miss Congeniality, was born a male and underwent a sex change four years ago. The Vancouver, British Columbia, native was initially denied entry to Canada's pageant because she was not born female. Donald Trump, who runs the Miss Universe Organization, subsequently overruled that decision last month.

The 6-foot-1 (1.8-meter-1 centimeter) blond beauty, who towered over her fellow contenders while competing in the bikini and formal wear contests, garnered most of the attention Saturday night, soliciting loud cheering and howls each time she appeared on stage.

Talackova's involvement in the pageant has drawn international attention since being denied entry and hiring high-profile lawyer Gloria Allred to represent her in her battle to be readmitted.

The rules of the contest run by Trump's New York City-based organization say entrants must be "naturally born" females. But shortly after Talackova announced a news conference in Los Angeles with Allred, the Miss Universe Organization said in a statement on its Canada website that Talackova can compete "provided she meets the legal gender recognition requirements of Canada, and the standards established by other international competitions."

Miss Universe organizers have not elaborated on the statement.

Allred said during Saturday's pageant that Talackova shouldn't feel too disappointed.

"She's still a winner as far as I'm concerned," Allred said during an intermission. "She won an 'herstoric' civil rights victory and that I think is frankly more important than anything, any victory she would win, even representing Miss Canada."

Talackova is the child of a Czechoslovakian father and aboriginal Canadian mother. She has said that she knew early on she was in the wrong body. Her change of gender was hardly a secret before the event because she had competed in the 2010 Tiffany Miss International Queen Competition for transgendered and transsexual women in Pattaya, Thailand. In a video interview for that pageant, she said she had lived her life as a female since age 4, began hormone therapy at 14 and changed her sex at 19.

The controversy surrounding her participating in Miss Universe Canada erupted this spring after a blogger recognized her from the transsexual beauty contest in Thailand and posted about it.

Miss Universe publicity director Brenda Mendoza has said transgender competitors are now welcome at all of its pageants around the world.

But she says it's being left to the individual franchises to determine if the recent policy change is carried out.

Important Business Networking Methods for Internet Marketers ...

Important Business Networking Methods for Internet Marketers

Proficient business networking is all about focusing your entire efforts on networking with the right people and growing your list of contacts. Each and every step that you take as you grow your business network is going to help you get a great return on your effort because the progress you crave and reach will totally depend upon the way in which you partner with other businesses and individuals. This article will teach you a few things that you need to know to make sure that you are going to take a good approach to your business networking so that you can get as much a return on your investment as possible. We understand very well that Affiloblueprint bonus is nothing new within the world of internet marketing and business.

We love to encourage people to always do more because that puts them in a position to become greater than they thought possible. If all three of them look like a good fit for what you are doing, then perhaps choose the one that seems to hold the best promise. If you are not sure or feel you do not know enough to make a call, then you can just do more research and learning or ask people at a forum. Right now, if you are a beginner, then you do not have all you need to start because we did not give it to you ? not enough room to do that. Another smart reason for small scale testing is so you can have some time to feel like you know what you are doing. Only you know what is best for your business, so just be sure you integrate it as smoothly as possible.

Cast a Wide Net: One of the mistakes that you can make with business networking is that you may prejudge people, and avoid networking with them. However, you should make an effort not to do this because you?ll never know who can help you or what sort of referrals they will send your way. Don?t take your targeting too far because while this will help you in your marketing efforts it won?t help you when you do your business networking. You need to be confident in your business networking efforts and cast your net as widely as you possibly can so that you can see what sort of benefits can be netted from the people you make contact with.

Push the Envelope: Success with business networking lies in how you go about the whole process in comparison to the others. If you want to earn more points and make better contacts then you need to go an extra mile than the others. Push against the envelope and you will see that you?re easily doing more than everybody else is doing. You will run into slow times now and again and that?s when you really need to try your hardest; you need to work with a mixture of perseverance and dedication to keep from burning out halfway through.

Build Your Network Online and Off: You should not limit your networking approach to just online or offline options, use both equally. There?s a critical need today using both online tactics and offline tactics so that you don?t miss out on any contacts that are worth going after. The sort of approach you use to build your network is important because in the long run what matters most is not the quantity of contacts you have but the quality. Building a balanced network of just online and offline network contacts is good because it makes your network more stable than that of someone who used a limited approach. Regardless of the type of business you decide to run online and which type of audience you want to focus on, as long as you want to find success in the long term, you?ll need to understand how important it is to strike out in joint ventures, create contacts at the top of your field and get to know and/or partner with the other influencers in your business. You are going to get far more out of your web business if you put in the effort to network regularly with the top people in your field who can help you grow your business and expand your reach.

Fla. county approves changes after oil spill fraud

Amid a criminal investigation into the alleged misuse of funds paid by BP after the 2010 Gulf oil spill, a Panhandle county made big changes Tuesday in the way it oversees spending for promotion of the area's world-famous beaches.

An attorney advising Okaloosa County commissioners said they could not wait for state auditors, the sheriff's auditors and the FBI to finish investigations into misspending of bed tax and BP funds before making the changes.

"These changes are not the end, they are merely the beginning but we feel they are crucial to the integrity of the process," attorney Greg Stewart told commissioners. They approved changes that included requiring all purchases over $25,000 by the Tourism Development Council be approved by the county's administrator or the county commission.

The move came less than two weeks after the county's former tourism director died of an apparent suicide. Investigators had unearthed more than $1.4 million in questionable spending on his home and a yacht.

The sheriff's office said last week it was expanding its inquiry, but said the investigation was ongoing did not release details.

The state is conducting forensic audits.

Also Tuesday, commissioners required that the agency's contracts conform to the rules for other county departments. Other departments require task orders detailing the purposes of the expenditures and requiring various levels of approval, Stewart said. The TDC contracts had no-such safeguards. Stewart said many other county tourism agencies in Florida require such task orders.

Interim tourism director Greg Donovan said he has spent his first week on the job fielding questions and trying to figure out the "jigsaw puzzle" that is the Okaloosa County Tourism Development Council. Donovan was the county's airport director before stepping into the interim post.

"Our first priority is to make sure we facilitate all law enforcement requests; that is paramount," he said.

But Donovan said there is another concern: What could happen if the Fort Walton Beach area falls behind in the aggressive competition to market itself as a vacation destination.

"There are thousands of communities out there competing and if you live in Tennessee and you are out there making that decision of where you are going to vacation and this location falls of the map for a year or two because of our lack of promotional capability, it will hurt us.

The TDC cancelled a plan to take an RV to South Carolina to promote the region in a "Boast the Coast" event, but the agency wants to continue a Father's Day giveaway of week's beach vacation and Jeep. Donovan told The Associated Press on Tuesday that he didn't immediately know how much the Father's Day package cost or if the money came from BP or bed tax funds. He said he would provide that information later Tuesday afternoon.

BP provided millions to Gulf counties after the oil giant's massive oil spill. Much of the money went to promote tourism along Florida's white-sand beaches after hotels, restaurants and other tourism-dependent businesses complained that the 2010 tourism season was ruined because of the perception that the oil had reached their beach.

The oil washed ashore on Pensacola Beach and tar balls and tar mats came on shore further east from Navarre Beach to Panama City. Nonstop news coverage of the spill cleanup and environmental monitoring and anxiety about the spill spreading throughout the Florida cause tourism to plummet for months.
